We congratulate scientist Professor Sharon Robinson, Homeward Bound Science Facilitator [Team HB3 & HB5 Island Sky], who was recently featured by the UN Ozone Secretariat, for her work as a member of the UN Environment Programme Environmental Effects Assessment Panel (EEAP) which is at the forefront of global climate action to protect the ozone layer and the environment. Sharon co leads reporting on how ozone depletion impacts terrestrial ecosystems across the globe.
Professor Robinson is the Dean Researcher Development at the University of Wollongong and leads their Global Challenge Program. She is a global leader in Antarctic science within the new Securing Antarctica’s Environmental Future Program, researching how Antarctic ecosystems respond to climate change.
In 2023, she was awarded a medal from the Australian Government for ‘significant service to science, particularly the study of Antarctic environmental change’. We are honoured to have Prof. Sharon Robinson as one of our Homeward Bound Science Leads.
